INSPECT YOUR RABBIT AT PICK-UP

We strongly recommend that every adopter carefully inspect their rabbit at the time of pick-up and ask any questions they may have before leaving with their bunny. This is the opportunity to make sure you are comfortable with your rabbit’s condition and to bring any concerns to our attention while the rabbit is still in our care. Once your rabbit leaves The Lopsided Hare Rabbitry, we cannot control the environment, handling, diet, housing, sanitation, or care the rabbit is exposed to, so responsibility for the rabbit’s continued health and well-being transfers to the adopter.

RESERVATIONS & DEPOSITS

Our rabbits are available on a first-come, first-served basis. A rabbit is not considered officially reserved until the required deposit has been made. Rabbit prices vary between 200.00-400.00 Dollars a 50.00-dollar non-refundable deposit is required to hold your bunny which will be applied to the total purchase amount, this can be sent by these methods Zelle or Apple Pay You may choose to pay the rabbit’s balance in full or place the required non-refundable deposit and pay the remaining balance at the agreed-upon pick up date. A rabbit without a deposit remains available to other potential adopters, and we cannot guarantee that an unpaid hold will remain available.

OUR COMMITMENT TO YOU & YOUR RABBIT

When you choose a rabbit from The Lopsided Hare Rabbitry, you are not simply purchasing an animal—you are welcoming a member of our family into your family. Our policies are designed to protect the health and well-being of our rabbits while also making sure every adopter understands their responsibilities before bringing their new bunny home. By placing a deposit or purchasing a rabbit from us, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to the policies outlined below.

RABBIT BONDING

Rabbits should never simply be placed together and expected to get along. Proper bonding takes time, patience, supervision, and an appropriate introduction process. Even rabbits that appear friendly may initially fight or become territorial when introduced incorrectly. After quarantine has been completed, adopters should introduce rabbits gradually and safely, using appropriate bonding techniques and closely supervised interactions. The Lopsided Hare Rabbitry cannot guarantee that two rabbits will bond successfully, as compatibility depends on the individual rabbits and the environment in which bonding takes place.

HOLDING & PICK-UP POLICY

We understand that sometimes additional time is needed before bringing your bunny home, and we are happy to work with adopters whenever possible. Your rabbit will be held until the agreed-upon pick-up date. If additional boarding or holding time is needed, please communicate that, as it is very important to separate bucks from does around 10 weeks of age. If you are traveling from out of town, please ensure travel adjustments will be made for your new family member also. Failure to communicate or make arrangements for an extended period may result in the rabbit being considered abandoned, and the rabbit may be made available to another home without refund.

Policies and the Bunny Business.

HEALTH GUARANTEE

Every rabbit leaving The Lopsided Hare Rabbitry is carefully evaluated before going to its new home and will only be placed when we believe the rabbit is healthy and ready for adoption. Our goal is to provide healthy, well-socialized rabbits and to be transparent with adopters about anything we know regarding a rabbit’s health or development. Our health guarantee is intended to cover qualifying genetic conditions, not illnesses or health problems that may develop as a result of environmental changes, improper diet, stress, injury, parasites, gastrointestinal issues, respiratory illness, or other conditions outside of our control.

GENETIC HEALTH GUARANTEE

Our genetic health guarantee is intended to provide reasonable protection for the adopter while recognizing that no breeder can guarantee that a living animal will never develop an illness or medical condition. Qualifying claims must be supported by appropriate veterinary documentation from a licensed veterinarian, and any suspected genetic condition must be evaluated before a claim can be considered. This guarantee does not cover conditions caused by environmental factors, husbandry, diet, injury, neglect, improper care, parasites, gastrointestinal stasis, bloat, respiratory illness, or other non-genetic conditions.

RETURN & RE-HOMING POLICY

All rabbit sales are final, and refunds are not provided simply because an adopter changes their mind or can no longer keep the rabbit. However, we will always want to know if you can no longer care for a rabbit purchased from The Lopsided Hare. We would much rather have you contact us so that we can discuss returning or responsibly rehoming the rabbit than see one of our rabbits abandoned, surrendered to a shelter, or placed in an unsafe situation. Returning a rabbit does not entitle the adopter to a refund.

CLOSED RABBITRY POLICY

For the health and safety of our rabbits, The Lopsided Hare Rabbitry is a closed rabbitry. We do not allow visitors to enter our rabbitry or handle our breeding rabbits. This policy helps reduce the risk of bringing outside illnesses into our rabbitry and protects the health of our herd. We understand that some adopters may wish to see where their rabbit was raised, and we are happy to share photos, videos, information about our setup, and updates whenever possible while maintaining the health and safety of our rabbits.

RIGHT TO REFUSE A SALE

The Lopsided Hare Rabbitry reserves the right to refuse or cancel a sale or reservation if we believe that placement is not in the best interest of the rabbit. Our priority will always be the health, safety, and long-term well-being of every rabbit we raise. If we choose to cancel a reservation before the rabbit leaves our care, any deposit paid toward that reservation will be handled according to the circumstances of the cancellation.

AGREEMENT

By purchasing or placing a deposit on a rabbit from The Lopsided Hare Rabbitry, you acknowledge that you have had the opportunity to read these policies, ask questions, and understand the responsibilities involved in adopting one of our rabbits. By proceeding with a purchase, you agree to follow these policies and provide your rabbit with appropriate housing, nutrition, veterinary care, socialization, and lifelong care.

BRINGING HOME A SECOND BUNNY QUARANTINE

If you already have a rabbit at home and are bringing home a rabbit from The Lopsided Hare as a second bunny, quarantine is extremely important. Your new rabbit should be housed separately from your existing rabbit for an appropriate quarantine period before introductions or bonding are attempted. During quarantine, the rabbits should not share food dishes, litter boxes, grooming supplies, toys, or other items that could transfer illness. The purpose of quarantine is to allow time to monitor the new rabbit for signs of illness and help protect the rabbit you already have at home.
