A deposit secures your chosen bunny once they are ready to be reserved. We'll keep you updated as your little one grows and prepares for their new home. Bunnies range between $200-$400 depending on the Bunny and all deposits are $50.00 non-refundable.

When your bunny reaches 9 weeks old, we well schedule your pickup day, your new family member will go home with their paperwork, starter supplies and care information.

Transition Starter Kit
A starter supply of Show Hutch Deluxe 17 (alfalfa-based pellets) along with a Timothy/Alfalfa hay blend and some pine pellets for their litter box to, help your new bunny transition comfortably into its new home.

We strongly encourage you to do as much research as possible, before bringing home a bunny, Owning a pet is a long-term commitment, and it can be very expensive to properly care for an animal. and if you're not ready for that commitment, we suggest waiting until the timing is right, we want every bunny to find a home that is prepared for the responsibility of rabbit ownership where they can grow, thrive, and be loved as part their new family.

Preparing Our Bunnies for Life Beyond the Rabbitry

We believe a well-socialized bunny is better prepared to confidently transition into their new home. Because our rabbits are raised inside our home, they are naturally exposed to the everyday sights, sounds, and activity of family life. They hear household noises, meet people of different ages, and are accustomed to children, dogs, and cats being part of their environment.

As each bunny’s personality allows, we gently introduce them to new experiences at their own pace. We may offer harnesses for supervised exploration, and we place carriers in their living areas so they can investigate them on their own rather than having a carrier suddenly become something unfamiliar on moving day. Our goal is to make common experiences—being handled, hearing new sounds, meeting different people, and traveling in a carrier—feel as normal and stress-free as possible.

Every bunny is an individual, so we never force an experience simply for the sake of socialization. We pay attention to their comfort level and allow them to build confidence at their own pace.

Our hope is that when your bunny leaves The Lopsided Hare, they aren’t just ready for a new home—they’ve already had a gentle introduction to the many sights, sounds, and experiences that come with being a beloved family pet.
